Much of the fun in Overgrowth is from the feel of combat and when you really are doing well it is meant to be the over-the-top experience of an action hero in a good kung-fu movie! The title is single player only, but despite this provides lots of content in the campaign and the sandbox-y aspects of setting up combat scenes etc.

There is no health meter and damage is semi-realistic in that you can't take getting slashed full on with a sword or having your neck snapped and being pummeled with fists and feet won't let you or your enemies last very long its of note that respawn is almost instant to get players back into the action. Combat is certainly a high point as well which takes place with varying forms of hand-to-hand, ranging from stealthily approaching and choking out someone from behind, to deliberate strikes with swords and other melee weaponry, to a flowing flurry of punches, kicks, and counters.

When traveling, there is a parkour-style flow to movement within the open-ish world which, thanks to the game's third person perspective, is less likely to trigger motion sickness in some people the way well done/realistic first-person parkour can (ie Dying Light). There is clear focus on the martial arts action of the engine which is incredibly fluid both in travel and combat. Initially you know very little of your character, much less the game's story itself, which unfurls through in-engine cutscenes as you progress.
